"Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit this website. My goal is to raise money for the Burren Chernobyl Project, by cycling solo across Australia from Perth to Sydney. Leaving Perth Western Australia Sunday 5th of April 2009, I began the 4,360km cycle, heading east to Sydney's Opera House.
The solo trip took 42 days - finishing at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday 16th of May. I encountered a variety of terrains including mountain ranges and desert, in temperatures ranging from +40°C to - 2°C, carrying everything from camping equipment to food and water on my bike. Until recently I hadn't cycled any further than a short journey to work, so this epic cycle presented a huge personal challenge.
I hope you will be inspired and motivated, even in this unprecedented economic crisis, to donate just a couple of Euros to assist the people affected by the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor Explosion. These people are experiencing a far worse ongoing crisis than most of us can even imagine. Even a small donation will have a sizeable and positive impact in their lives, who even 23 years on, are still suffering extreme hardships. Your donation would be an honourable and worthy commemoration of the anniversary of the disaster, April 26th. To make a donation, click on the "Donate" button on the left. All donations go directly to the charity, all expenses have either been covered by my generous Sponsors or by myself.
Checkout my diary/blog updates of my progress across Australia and view photos of the trip here".
